Court Circuit Sospensione
Court Circuit Parete

Matali Crasset
Danese Milano
2012

The contemporary lighting planning is more and more expressed by this new light source which is often associated with electronics and with a cold, impersonal and immaterial technology. Therefore Court Circuit wants to give volume and presence to led, to make it more “domestic and daily”, to bring the images of the icon of the traditional light bulb back to the shape of the LED project, recreating an affective relationship with this new source.
Matali Crasset starts from the archetype of the lampshade and realises CC using FR4, the material which the printed circuit is made from, that is necessary for the led technology, and face it with no prejudice, from an innovative point of view which recognises the functional, electric, structural and aesthetic properties of the material itself. The diffuser therefore is the material supporting the led that becomes the only element in which consists the entire body of the lamp.
Every trace is functional to the ignition of the led and their correct function. This progressive and directional growth makes visible the energy flow like in a plant the “ribs” bring life to the support and with that giving life to the body of the lamp. The technology is visible and transparent, not hiding the reality itself.
